Performing Opportunities

Mid Atlantic Youth Ballet presents two full-length ballets each year. “The Nutcracker” is performed in December and another story ballet is presented each spring on a revolving basis.  See the Auditions page for more information about dates and times.

All participants must audition for casting purposes. Performers must be able to commit to rehearsals which take place weekday afternoons, some evenings, and some weekends.

At the core of MYB is a company of advanced dancers selected through audition. These dancers participate in educational outreach and community service dance programs along with performing in the winter and spring productions. Company class and rehearsals for this select group are Saturday afternoons and some evenings.

Participants in MYB productions are never required to purchase costumes, as professional quality costumes owned by the organization are loaned to the dancers. However, student participation in fundraising events will be necessary to offset production costs.
